Bioshock Infinite first gameplay footage
Sep 21st 2010, 4:10 pm EST

Announced on August 12/10, Bioshock Infinite is neither a prequel or a sequel to the previous Bioshock games. It is its own stand alone game, taking place in a previous time and in a different setting. The game follows Booker DeWitt, a former member of the Pinkertons, a real life private US security and detective agency set up in the 1800s by Allan Pinkerton. The game takes place in the floating city of Columbia in 1912, where DeWitt is trying to save a woman trapped aboard the collapsing city.

This is the first time any of us here have seen actual gameplay footage of Bioshock Infinite. Although this video looks more like a cutscene thanks to all of the trigger events, it gives gamers a good look at what they can expect the game to look like once it comes out. The game is slated to be released some time in 2012, the same year as our prophesied end-time. Check out the gameplay footage below:

Both devices are going to be aomwse. The pre-order count for 3DS is massive and I’m sure Nintendo won’t let people down with game selection and fun factor. The NGP will be very impressive as well and feature great high-end gaming titles and a selection of cool multimedia features. Ever since the next generation consoles (360, PS3 and Wii) hit the market, it has been a clear cut choice between them. 360 gives a great social/online hardcore gaming experience, PS3 provides hardcore games and a multimedia device and the Wii hits home as an interactive, family fun gaming system. Theres a console for every gamer. The 3Ds will be a fun family based (casual) system with 3D-like graphics. The NGP will mesh the best portable graphics we’ve seen with more hardcore gaming titles. The 3Ds will be more affordable for it’s target customer, while the NGP will serve as a link to your PS3 to create a portable multimedia center. The 3Ds and the NGP are two completely different systems, the only similar aspect is that they’re portable and capable of playing games. The real truth is, everyone wins with the devices as there is a portable system for everyone. I’m glad Nintendo targets the casual market, and Sony the serious. You could always buy the 3DS and then save up until the NGP comes out and buy it too.
